Describe the Energy Transformation in a Windmill
At this station the students will be answering three task cards. Chemical energy is converted to mechanical energy in cars when gasoline undergoes combustion to power the engine. How A Wind Turbine Works Text Version Department Of Energy Wind energy is converted to kinetic energy which is then converted to electrical energy. . First of all to change the wind energy to electricity rotor blades spin the hub center of the turbine. Describe the energy transformations as the wind powers a wind turbine. When wind flows over the surface of the ocean then they transfer their energy to water of the ocean. A wind turbine turns wind energy into electricity using the aerodynamic force from the rotor blades which work like an airplane wing or helicopter rotor blade.
